Hello, I am Anushka Anand!
About Anushka. ..
Anushka is currently a freshman and a biology major. She has hopes of becoming a general surgeon in the near future and has been a part of Delta Omega Chi for 7 months. Anushka learned about this organization at the Cougar Carnival at the New Student Orientation.
What made you choose DOC and become extremely involved with it?
"I chose DOC because I loved the environment it provided for me. The mix of service events, fun socials, and career prep that the organization provides really appealed to me and made me want to contribute to it."
Has DOC improved your experience at UH in any way?
"DOC has very much improved my experience at UH. I came to this school thinking that I would stay with the same friends I have always had, but being in DOC introduced me to so many people whom I just click with. I never would have met my favorite workout buddy if it weren't for DOC."
"DOC has provided me with tons of insights not just on the process of applying to medical schools, but also on what it really means to be a physician."
How has DOC enriched your knowledge about pursuing a career in healthcare?

Hello, I am Noelia Ortiz- Colon!
About Noelia..
Noelia is currently a senior, majoring in kinesiology, and is hoping to be a part of the medical field as a nurse. She has been a part of Delta Omega Chi for 1 year and heard about this organization from a fellow member.
What made you choose DOC and become extremely involved with it?
"I saw all the opportunities DOC had to offer with volunteer events, scholarship opportunities, internships, and the mentorship program. It also made me get involved at school, socialize with other members, and get to know numerous motivational and inspirational people."
Has DOC improved your experience at UH in any way?
"My involvement in DOC has allowed me to be more than just a student at UH. The people within DOC have inspired me to become more involved at school and in the Houston healthcare community. Learning from my DOC peers and the opportunities provided by DOC made a significant difference in my pursuit of becoming a nurse."
How has DOC enriched your knowledge about pursuing a career in healthcare?
"DOC provides necessary information and opportunities for young aspiring healthcare professionals to engage in meaningful career-related experiences. The guest speakers, the volunteer opportunities, workshops, and graduate school tours are all extremely motivating and satisfying."

Hello, I am Imran Siddiqui!
About Imran..
A biology major minoring in philosophy, Imran wishes to pursue the path of being a physician. He is currently a freshman and has been a part of Delta Omega Chi since the Fall of 2017. Imran knew about this organization from a friend.
"My desire to engage with future medical professionals and build new relationships as I prepare for my intended profession is why I chose to be involved with DOC."
What made you choose DOC and become extremely involved with it?
Has DOC improved your experience at UH in any way?
"DOC has helped me build new connections and relationships that will be useful down the line. I also received plenty of advice on how to structure my student life in a way that will keep me stable, happy, and fulfilled."
"I have gained insight on what being a physician has in store for me due to the numerous events that have brought in actual healthcare professionals to talk to us, and that particular event increased my desire to delve further into my intended profession and learn more about it."
