MISSION
Delta Omega Chi Medical Service Society is a non-profit organization based at the University of Houston. We are committed to providing for the underserved community of Houston, Texas. It is our mission to fully prepare future health professionals by providing educational and volunteer opportunities in hospitals, clinics, and medical institutions, while reaching out to the community.
WHY DELTA OMEGA CHI
Health professionals in medicine today are leaders, scientists, and caretakers of those in need. As a collegiate-level medical organization, Delta Omega Chi provides opportunities for students to gain leadership positions, connect with experienced mentors, and visit graduate schools that match their interests. Furthermore, our volunteer events are specifically designed to provide future health professionals with experience in working and closely communicating with patients of different backgrounds.
WHAT WE DO
Want to help others in need? We volunteer locally in heavily underserved areas and clinics. Want to lead? Intern with Delta Omega Chi through our Delta Omega Chi Student Officer Internship Program. Want to learn? Our bi-annual Health Professional Panel invites health professionals from all over Houston (medical, nursing, pharmacy, PT/OT, PA, optometry, dental) to provide you only the best information & advice to help you be the strongest individual you can be.
Need a mentor? Become a part of our student mentorship program. Delta Omega Chi’s Mentorship Program pairs you up with a mentor/mentee with the same major, minor, and field of study to help you prepare for classes & graduate program prerequisites.
Want a taste of the field? We sponsor tours and provide interactive experiences in all health specialties in the Houston area. We host tours at institutions in the world- renowned Texas Medical Center, hospitals, and clinics in Houston, Texas. Want to give back? Delta Omega Chi always serves a population in need through charity & philanthropy work every month, week, and day.
